About this place
Sampling regional sake from across Japan in modest 100 ml pours is the defining pleasure at Tokkuritei in Kita Ward's Toshima neighborhood. The cellar list runs deep, making it enjoyable simply to leaf through the choices, pick a first cup, and plot what to pour next alongside the food.
The dishes are naturally tuned to good drinking, with seafood at the forefront. Diners can sip through silky cuts of Pacific bluefin tuna akami, then transition to aji namero generously seasoned with myoga ginger and aromatics. Beyond raw selections, the kitchen turns out simmered sablefish in a rich sweet-savory reduction, alongside warm bites such as fragrant grilled chicken skewers and thick deep-fried Tochio tofu, allowing a meal to unfold easily at whatever pace feels right.
Perched on the 2th floor, the dining room combines counter stools, tables, and raised tatami seating into an easygoing retreat suited to quiet solo drinking or lingering around a table with companions. Busy evenings are common, making reservations a sensible step before heading over; payments via PayPay are accepted.
